Paul

Paul is an American writer, law school graduate, and tutor. He is writing a psychological fantasy book, and producing an accompanying tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG), both titled Six Seasons.
Interests
Paul appreciates creativity; any opportunity to refine the magical, abstract experiences in our head into something that can be shared with one another. Writing, making electronic music, drawing, and painting are his favorite activities. He also enjoys nighttime runs and daytime hikes—no matter the season.
Since graduating from law school and realizing his own neurodivergence, Paul has garnered an appreciation for both the broader ambits of society (like law, culture, and the sciences), and individual expression (the arts, psychology, and philosophy). Paul brings his broader multidisciplinary interests to his tabletop sessions, his tutoring, and his writing.
Paul enjoys the macabre and introspective works of our day. His favorite novel/movie is The Shining by Stephen King. He enjoys a variety of musical experiences, but the electronic artist Aphex Twin and the album Everywhere at the End of Time most shaped his life outlooks.
Paul enjoys difficult games with deckbuilding components. He used to play the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game competitively, but has turned towards making his own card game system within Six Seasons. He still plays some roguelike games like Noita and Balatro (as frustrating as they can be).
Controversially, Paul stands by his opinion that Cyberpunk 2077 was a masterpiece of its time… if only for the story.
TTRPG and Mission

Paul believes that tabletop gaming is a burgeoning artistic medium rife with unlimited potential for creative expression, interpersonal validation, and even psychological fulfillment.
He started playing tabletop role-playing games with friends in 2015 (Warhammer 40k and Dungeons & Dragons), but Paul wanted to make his own mark in the world. Since then, he has created an entire unpublished TTRPG (complete with its own unique system) for his friends. The game was called Identity, and was a post-apocalytpic survival horror game based in the SCP (Secure, Contain, Protect) universe.
Paul began creating his own psychological-fantasy universe (Six Seasons) in graduate school. His law school studies gave him a taste of the complexity of human institutions. Six Seasons features over 54 distinct realms, each with its own psychological theme ranging from depression, memory and nostalgia, the pervasiveness of technology, addiction, and more. Paul hopes his upcoming book and game will reflect a sophistication that the tabletop world would appreciate as a means to reflect their own identities in a safe and understanding space.
